The Inter-faith Food Pantry

Join fellow St. Luke’s parishioners in a morning of serving the neighborhood by volunteering at our Inter-faith Food Pantry (hosted every Saturday morning at Old First Presbyterian Church, one block south from St. Luke’s on Van Ness Ave.). Over 300 people receive groceries each week in a cooperative effort between the San Francisco Food Bank and local churches. Email the office to find out how to volunteer.

Bayview Mission

Bayview Mission, a special mission of the Diocese founded by the Ven. Canon Nina Pickerrell, provides food, services, and supplies to residents of the Bayview and Hunters Point neighborhoods. It serves as a collection and distribution hub for eight agencies, and reaches more than 2,700 residents annually, including children, families, seniors, veterans, and transitional neighbors, with clothing, hygiene supplies, shelter support, and diapers for foster children and local infants.

St. Luke’s has been connected to this mission from its founding. There is a collection basket in the back of the church for direct donations of:

  • baby blankets

  • baby clothes, especially onesies

  • diapers, especially size 5 and newborn

  • toiletries and dental supplies

  • warm socks, all sizes

  • buttons and yarn

  • zip lock bags (larger than sandwich size)

  • towels and sheets

  • children’s books

  • cloth laundry bags

  • laundry supplies
